Sunny weather means residents and their pets are getting outdoors to enjoy the summer. Please be mindful that keeping dogs on leash is both a City of Snoqualmie ordinance and association requirement (Pet Policy). This includes keeping your pet leashed on trails, city parks, athletic fields, sports courts, public parking lots, or in your neighborhood. Your Fido may be sweet as can be, but dogs are unpredictable and even the smallest or tenderhearted pooch can act out inappropriately, frighten a small child or adult who has a fear of dogs, or inadvertently damage landscaping in your neighbor's yard, at city parks or in association common areas New neighborhoods with fences not yet installed seem to be most susceptible to the off-leash issue. If your pet needs to roam and run, there are two convenient off-leash dog parks; one on SE Jacobia in the Eagle Pointe neighborhood, the other in downtown Snoqualmie at the Three Forks Off-Leash Dog Park. (See City of Snoqualmie update below.)
Not everyone loves dogs, or maybe more specifically your dog, like you may! If you are unwilling to keep your animal on a leash when off your property, your family pet could be reported to, and picked up by, animal control. Responsible pet ownership includes respecting the leash law for everyone's quiet enjoyment of their community.
