The Sustainability Speakers Forum in Snoqualmie continues on Monday, March 15 with a focus on a vital element of our lives: our children.
“When we look at planning for our future, we have to remember that we are trying to support a healthy environment and healthy citizens,” said Snoqualmie Planning Director Nancy Tucker. “Protecting nature’s resources and services, such as clean water, wetlands and the urban forest, and providing parks, open spaces and places for local food production, affects all of us – but is especially important for our youth.”
The next Session, How Green is My Valley? Planning a Community for our Children, will center on supporting healthy natural spaces, maintaining clean water, and providing local fresh foods. Speakers will include Ara Erickson of the Cascade Land Conservancy, Sandy Fischer who has worked on green neighborhood projects in Portland, and Erick Haakenson, owner of Jubilee Farm in Carnation.
